Super NightShot

A built-in, infrared system that lets you capture video in monochrome recording from up to 10 feet away even in total darkness (0 lux). Super Night Shot also allows you to employ one of two Slow Shutter speeds to increase picture brightness, contrast and quality.

Super SteadyShot

Sensitive horizontal and vertical motion vector sensors pick up the unwanted jittering caused by an unsteady hand. These shakes are then compensated by the Super SteadyShot System, eliminating unwanted blurs and giving you a smoother and more enjoyable video.

16:9 Wide Mode

Sony’s new 16:9 Wide Mode enables you to take more impressive and professional like movies. With this aspect ratio of recording your movies as compared to the standard 4:3 ratio, you’ll get strong visuals in a beautiful movie theatre format when playing back on a wide screen TV.

3CCD

The basic design incorporates a prism to split the incoming light source into three primary components (red, green and blue). This allows its three separate CCDs to capture each primary colour source independently.

Advanced HAD Technology (CCD)

Our Advanced Hole Accumulation Diode (HAD) technology produces excellent results in low light condition, with noise level being half that of previous levels. The quality of the recorded image is determined by the efficiency of the CCD sensor as will as the internal voltage controlled circuit in the voltage output circuit.

Colour LCD Screen

Small solid state LCD (liquid crystal display) panel on Sony Handycams, which uses thousands of red, green and blue pixels to create a colour image in the viewfinder. This helps to ensure the correct composition of the image being recorded.

InfoLITHIUM L-Series

Lithium batteries allow far greater recording time than the previously used Ni-Cad options. What’s more, Lithium batteries can also be recharged at any time without causing any "memory effect".
